Checking in at #RootsTech has never been easier
If there was ever a difference between night and day, my check-in experience for RootsTech this year compared to last year was just that. This year, my check-in experience was ridiculously easy.
When I registered for RootsTech I opted to get my badge mailed to me. I’m so glad I did. I carried this precious cargo with me on the plane so that nothing would happen to it, in fact. This morning I walked over to the Salt Lake Palace Convention Center, which is right across the street from my hotel, with my name tag in hand.
Walking through the doors of the Palace, I immediately spotted a bright pink RootsTech sign that said “Help Desk.” But I honestly didn’t need to ask for help. Giant bins labelled “Bag Pickup” and racks with lanyards were literally right there. Seriously, guys…it can’t get any easier.
I then poked around the Salt Lake Palace watching the magic of RootsTech set-up happen. Signs were being put up, displays were being constructed and vendors were creating their booths in the Expo Hall. The place was a buzz of workers and volunteers getting everything ready for all of us tomorrow.
Don’t miss the absolutely ADORABLE area that is set up to promote RootsTech London. There will be photo opportunities galore with your friends and family in this area with a telephone booth and a British car. I can see some of my fellow Ambassadors having some great fun there.
And can I give a shout out to the half a dozen volunteers who greeted me throughout my walk-about and, more specifically, asked me if I had everything I needed? It just reminds me of how many friendly people are at RootsTech and how they really do want you to have the best experience.
